VACANCY TITLE: Digital Communications Intern

LOCATION: Rotterdam, The Netherlands

TERM: 6 months

INTENSITY: Full time (40 hours/week)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Profile

GCA seeks a dynamic individual to fill the role of Digital Communications Intern to contribute as a core team member to amplifying GCA’s role as the global adaptation solutions broker on various digital platforms.

The Digital Communications Intern will report to the Senior Communications Officer while working closely with other members of the External Affairs Team, thematic leads and colleagues.

 

Areas of responsibility

  • Social Media Management: Assist in developing, preparing, scheduling, and posting content on GCA’s social media accounts. Use tools like Falcon for social media management and analytics to track performance.

  • Content Collaboration: Work with program teams to create engaging content that promotes GCA’s work and adaptation solutions. Help monitor and analyze campaign performance to improve results.

  • Internal Communications: Support internal communications by helping put together GCA’s weekly internal newsletter. This involves coordinating with colleagues and using Mailchimp to design and distribute the newsletter.

  • Website Content: Assist in updating and posting content on the GCA website.

  • Event Support: Assisting in the creation of communications materials (both digital and print) for GCA events.

  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Take on additional tasks as needed to support the team, offering flexibility and assistance where required.

Job requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently pursuing or completed a Bachelor's degree in digital media, communications, marketing, graphic design, or a related field.

  • Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere, with a willingness to learn more. Experience with online animation software is a plus.

  • Familiarity with web content management systems (WordPress) is an advantage.

  • Experience with email marketing platforms is beneficial but not required.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English. Proficiency in French is an asset.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in diverse, intercultural environments.

  • The candidate must already reside in the Netherlands and be authorized to work here.
